I love shooting horror and I had the pleasure of working with writer, director Randall Snare this past Summer (2023) on her atmospheric horror short “The Biting Tree”. We filmed on location in Upstate New York.. which has some nicely creepy forests.
I was the DP and colorist on this project and we really tried to go for a subtle and unsettling vibe. Most of the film’s horror is in the mind of the characters, so it was a fun challenge working with Randall on how we’d visualize that, in camera and in the color grade.
